Selected private hospitals in ECF Districts
Mercy Corps has been operational in Pakistan since 1986. Mercy Corps’ work in Pakistan originated in its support to Afghan refugee communities focused on providing access to water, health improvement and vocational training for the refugee community in Balochistan Province. In the past few years, Mercy Corps has expanded its services to benefit both refugees and Pakistani citizens through improvement of health services, better treatment for tuberculosis, economic development, and emergency relief activities. Mercy Corps currently has offices in Islamabad, Quetta, and Lahore, and is operational in all four provinces of Pakistan, Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) and in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
Mercy Corps has been the principal recipient of Global Funds Grants for TB Control activities in the private sector since 2010 under Round 6 & 9, consolidated grant, followed by Single Stream of Funding (SSF) mechanism. Mercy Corps is now into a new grant agreement with the Global Fund under the New Funding Mechanism (NFM) which is effective from July 1, 2015 to December 31, 2017. An additional component of Enhanced Case Finding (ECF) with additional activities is added in the current grant which will be effective from July 1, 2016 to December 31, 2017. It will be implemented in 6 existing districts namely Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Multan, Khanewal and Vehari.
Under ECF component there will be new activities in the 6 selected districts as under:
GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:
The incumbent will be responsible for verbal screening of TB patients at the assigned hospital in accordance with the ECF Operational Guidelines.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

In close coordination with the expert testing in-charge, Doctor and paramedic at the private hospital
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
Graduation preferably in social sciences or relevant discipline. Fluency in written and spoken English, Urdu and Punjabi. Working knowledge of MS Office (specifically MS Word).
At least 2 years of relevant work experience with community based programs, preferably with TB DOTS awareness programs. Excellent communication skills are essential.
Successful and timely implementation of project activities in accordance with the monthly workplan and efficient execution of all other responsibilities as outlined under essential job functions.
