Job Description:
As an Assistant Manager Procurement, you will play a critical role in managing the procurement activities of NTS. You will be responsible for ensuring that all procurement processes comply with organizational policies, government regulations, and international best practices. Your primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Procurement Planning:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Prepare annual procurement plans and budgets in collaboration with relevant departments.
- Vendor Management:
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable vendors and suppliers.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements to secure favorable terms and conditions.
- Maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
- Tendering Process:
- Prepare and issue tender documents, including Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Quotations (RFQs).
- Conduct pre-bid meetings, evaluate bids, and recommend the most suitable vendors.
- Ensure transparency and fairness throughout the tendering process.
- Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with procurement laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
- Prepare regular reports on procurement activities, expenditures, and performance metrics.
- Conduct audits and reviews to identify areas for improvement.
- Team Leadership:
- Supervise and mentor junior staff members in the procurement department.
- Foster a culture of accountability, professionalism, and continuous learning within the team.
- Inventory Management:
- Monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages or excess stock.
- Coordinate with warehouse teams to ensure proper storage and distribution of procured items.
Key Responsibilities (General):
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand procurement needs and provide solutions.
- Stay updated with industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes.
- Promote ethical practices and maintain confidentiality in all procurement activities.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Educational Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Commerce, or a related field.
- A Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CIPS, CPIM) will be an added advantage.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, or a similar role.
- Prior experience in a testing or educational organization is preferred.
- Skills and Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of procurement principles, processes, and tools.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and procurement software.
- Ability to analyze data, prepare reports, and make informed decisions.
