Role Overview
The Researcher/Senior Researcher will be responsible for conducting in-depth research and analysis on competition-related matters. This role requires a strong understanding of competition laws, market dynamics, and economic principles. The ideal candidate will be able to produce data-driven insights to support the CCP’s objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and Analysis: Design, conduct, and analyze comprehensive studies and reports on competition-related issues.
- Policy Advice: Provide advice on economic and policy research to support the Commission’s objectives.
- Market Analysis: Analyze market trends, consumer behavior, and competitive dynamics across various sectors.
- Data Analysis: Analyze data on both micro and macroeconomic levels, providing insights for policy formulation.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with internal departments, including Legal, Advocacy, and Enforcement, to provide data-driven research to support regulatory decisions.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with external stakeholders such as government bodies, international organizations, and academic institutions to facilitate research collaboration.
- Publication: Oversee the preparation of academic research publications, policy briefs, and technical reports, ensuring accuracy, relevance, and clarity.
- Team Management: Manage and mentor a team of research analysts, providing guidance on methodology, data collection, and interpretation.
- Task Assignment: Assign research tasks to the research team based on the needs and requests from various departments of the Commission.
- Background Research: Conduct background research to support the development of competition strategies and policies.
Professional Credentials and Other Requirements
- Education: MSc/MPhil/PhD in Economics, Econometrics, Law, or Business-related discipline from an HEC-recognized local or foreign University.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience in research and analysis. Experience in leading a team, preferably in a research institute, is also required.
- Publications: A track record of research publications in reputable journals or conferences will be advantageous.
- Skills: Competence in managing data preparation, analysis, research, and drafting.
- Knowledge: Full working knowledge of competition-related matters in Pakistan and ability to place them in a comparative framework.
- Communication: Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Data Handling: Ability to work with large datasets and perform quantitative analysis.
- Tools: Proficiency in research tools and statistical software.
- Time Management: Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Age Limit: 35-50 years (including general age relaxation).
General Terms and Conditions
- Contract Basis: The appointment will be on a contract basis for a period of two (02) years, further extendable, subject to satisfactory performance.
- Regularization: The candidate may be considered for regularization after a reasonable time upon satisfactory progress/performance.
- Shortlisting: Only shortlisted candidates based on qualification and experience will be called for the interview.
- TA/DA: No TA/DA will be given to the candidates who appear in the test/interview.
- Undue Influence: Candidates who try to exercise undue influence during the selection process will be disqualified immediately.
- Right to Accept/Reject: The Commission reserves the right to accept/reject the applications or postpone the process as allowed under the rules.

پیشہ ورانہ اسناد اور دیگر تقاضے
- تعلیم: ایچ ای سی سے تسلیم شدہ مقامی یا غیر ملکی یونیورسٹی سے معاشیات، اکنومیٹرکس، قانون یا کاروبار سے متعلق شعبے میں ایم ایس سی/ایم فل/پی ایچ ڈی۔
- تجربہ: تحقیق اور تجزیہ میں کم از کم 3 سال کا متعلقہ پیشہ ورانہ تجربہ۔ تحقیقی ادارے میں ترجیحاً ٹیم کی قیادت کرنے کا تجربہ بھی درکار ہے۔
- اشاعتیں: معتبر جرائد یا کانفرنسوں میں تحقیقی اشاعتوں کا ٹریک ریکارڈ فائدہ مند ہوگا۔
- مہارتیں: ڈیٹا کی تیاری، تجزیہ، تحقیق اور مسودہ سازی کے انتظام میں قابلیت۔
- علم: پاکستان میں مقابلہ سے متعلق معاملات کا مکمل ورکنگ علم اور انہیں تقابلی فریم ورک میں رکھنے کی صلاحیت۔
- مواصلات: بہترین زبانی اور تحریری مواصلات کی مہارتیں۔
- ڈیٹا ہینڈلنگ: بڑے ڈیٹا سیٹس کے ساتھ کام کرنے اور مقداری تجزیہ کرنے کی صلاحیت۔
- ٹولز: تحقیقی ٹولز اور شماریاتی سافٹ ویئر میں مہارت۔
- وقت کا انتظام: سخت ڈیڈ لائن کے تحت کام کرنے اور ایک ساتھ متعدد منصوبوں کو سنبھالنے کی صلاحیت۔
