Job Description:
The CFO will be responsible for providing overall leadership to the financial function, with a strong focus on strategic planning, execution, direction, control, and staffing. This role demands a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of financial management and the ability to drive financial strategy in a complex and dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement financial strategies to support the organization’s goals.
- Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and commercial laws.
- Manage financial risks and implement effective internal controls.
- Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Provide strategic financial advice to the senior management team.
- Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including auditors, banks, and regulatory bodies.
- Oversee financial aspects of major projects and investments.
- Ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial data and reporting.
Qualifications:
- Membership of a recognized body of professional accountants (e.g., ACCA, CA, CPA).
Experience:
- Minimum of 13 years of post-qualification experience, with at least 5 years in a senior financial management position in a large commercial or public sector organization.
- Preferably experience in the energy sector.
- Experience managing assets of PKR five billion or more.
- Thorough knowledge of relevant accounting and reporting standards, taxation, compliance requirements, and commercial law.
