– Have completed no more than 20 months of doctoral studies as of May 1, 2025
– Have achieved a high academic standing, as determined by their institution, in their previous two years of study
– Not have received a doctoral-level scholarship from CIHR, NSERC, or SSHRC
The eligible program must include a substantial research component, leading to a thesis, project, or scholarly publication. Joint programs with a professional degree, such as MD/PhD or MBA/PhD, are also eligible if they have a significant research component.
