The Excise, Taxation & Narcotics Control Department, Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), has issued an urgent public notice regarding the disbursement of fuel subsidy funds. Through the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), the government has commenced the distribution of subsidy payments for specific commercial loading and passenger transport vehicles.
To ensure successful fund transfer, registered vehicle owners must meet strict compliance criteria immediately.
Eligible Vehicle Categories
The fuel subsidy scheme applies to owners of the following commercial vehicle categories:
- Long Vehicles (Trailers, etc.)
- Buses
- Delivery Vans / Loaders
- Trucks
- Mini-Buses / Wagons
3 Strict Eligibility Conditions for the Subsidy
To qualify and receive the subsidy payments, the department has set three mandatory conditions. The vehicle owner must have all of the following registered under their own name:
- Condition 1: The vehicle must be officially registered under your name and your Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) number.
- Condition 2: The Active Route Permit for the commercial vehicle must be issued under your name.
- Condition 3: A Bank Account must be active and registered under your own name.
Urgent Warning: SBP Rejecting Incomplete Cases
Crucial Update: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has already returned numerous subsidy cases. While many owners met the first two conditions (Vehicle Registration and Route Permit), payments could not be transferred because the owners did not have a bank account in their name.
Action Required
The Excise Department strongly advises all registered vehicle owners in the categories mentioned above who have not yet set up a bank account to immediately open a bank account using their own name and CNIC. This will prevent further delays and ensure that the government can process and clear your fuel subsidy payments directly.
