Punjab Police Special Branch — Vacancy Announcement

Applications are invited from suitable candidates holding a Punjab province domicile for various contractual technical posts (extendable up to three years) in the Special Branch, Punjab Police.

Position Details by Section

1. Explosive Detection Section (EDS)

  • Assistant Supervisor (BS-09) | 09 Posts | Age: 21–40 years
  • Qualifications: Higher Secondary School Certificate (Intermediate) or DAE (second division) + certification in Bomb Disposal Course with at least 2 years of field experience. OR Retired JCO/NCO of armed forces holding a Bomb Disposal certification with field experience.
  • Operator (BS-05) | 13 Posts | Age: 18–40 years
  • Qualifications: Matric/Equivalent (second division) + technical certificate (at least 6 months duration) in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, IT, or Radio/TV Mechanic fields. OR Retired NCO or soldier of armed forces with relevant technical qualification and experience.

2. Surveillance Section (SS)

  • Senior Operator (BS-07) | 02 Posts | Age: 21–40 years
  • Qualifications: Matric/Equivalent (second division) + certification in an intelligence course with at least 5 years of relevant experience, along with knowledge of IT, Computer Science, or Telecommunication. OR Retired NCO/Soldier of armed forces with an intelligence course certification and field experience.
  • Operator (BS-05) | 08 Posts | Age: 18–40 years
  • Qualifications: Matric/Equivalent (second division) + certification in an intelligence course with at least 3 years of relevant experience, along with knowledge of IT, Computer Science, or Telecommunication. OR Retired NCO/Soldier of armed forces with an intelligence course certification and field experience.

3. Canine Section (CS)

  • Senior Canine Handler (BS-07) | 01 Post | Age: 21–40 years
  • Qualifications: Middle pass + certification in basic dog handling course with at least 5 years of experience. OR Retired NCO or soldier of armed forces with a basic dog handling course and requisite field experience.
  • Canine Handler (BS-05) | 18 Posts | Age: 18–40 years
  • Qualifications: Primary pass + certification in basic dog handling course with at least 2 years of experience. OR Retired soldier or above with a basic dog handling course and requisite field experience.

Paper Composition & Written Test Pattern

To clear the written examination, candidates must secure at least 40% marks in each individual portion (where applicable) and 40% marks overall.

General Paper Pattern (For EDS & Surveillance Sections):

  • Total Marks: 100 | Passing Marks: 40% overall
  • Part 1 (50 Marks): * General Knowledge + Pakistan Studies + Islamiat/Ethics (for Non-Muslims): 25 Marks (MCQs)
  • Urdu: 12 Marks (Subjective)
  • English: 13 Marks (Subjective)
  • Note: Candidates must qualify both MCQ and Subjective portions, otherwise they fail.
  • Part 2 (50 Marks): Technical Section related to the post: 50 Marks (MCQs)

Paper Pattern for Canine Handler (BS-05):

  • Total Marks: 100
  • Part 1: MCQs relating to Canine Handling: 50 Marks (Passing: 20)
  • Part 2: Practical (Canine Training, Handling, Vaccination, Care): 50 Marks (Passing: 20)

How to Apply

  1. Application Form: Download the application form from the official Punjab Police website at www.punjabpolice.gov.pk.
  2. Application Fee: A non-refundable processing fee of Rs. 500/- must be deposited.
  3. Submission: Submit the dully filled application form along with attested copies of degrees, certificates, domicile, CNIC, and 3 recent passport-sized photographs to the regional Special Branch offices listed in the advertisement.
  4. Timeline: Applications will be received from June 1, 2026, to June 15, 2026.

Important Instructions

  • Government and semi-government employees must apply through the proper channel.
  • No TA/DA will be provided for tests or interviews.
  • Shortlisted candidates will be evaluated via a written test at the Punjab School of Information and Advanced Studies (PSIA), Chung, Lahore.
  • Any candidate with a criminal record or an ongoing FIR will be disqualified.
